When I first heard the term of constructivism I thought
I had something new to learn, but no. After
reading I understood I had knowledge about it. It says that people learn through experience,
even if it is something new people relate it with small pieces they already
have. As students this theory helps us improve our learning but as future
teacher also helps us with different teaching practices.
It is very important encouraging student on their on
their learning and reflection process. I as a student have experienced
different kind of teachers, those who were very traditional and those who continuously
provide me with new ways of learning and control my own learning. I think that
it is very important being aware of your learning, learning about learning. I like
the idea that attention is now shifted from the teacher to students, so now we
can contribute in our learning.
The constructivism says that the process of learning
is not just memorizing facts and ideas but it is even changing views of things
you thought you knew. It is like combining what you already know and using that
to learn more.
To conclude I would like to say that this kind of
approaches to learning and teaching process are always educative and really helpful.
It is good that we are encouraged to be critics and ask questions. I would like to say a quote from David Cooperrider
“ we live in a world our questions
create “
Your post are short and clear and I really enjoy reading them. A very useful post with clear opinions and a good choice that of using a quote to end your post. You have made a throwback in your past by comparing them with constructivism. Keep on like that.
